The New Statesman
Working with award-winning Head of Design Erica Weathers, we've been bringing the covers of The New Statesman to life through a series of animated cover designs.
Each cover is reimagined in motion for social media, paid campaigns, and digital screens in WHSmith travel stores across the UK. I get the opportunity to take great editorial design and give it a second life beyond the magazine shelf.
Since starting our collaboration in 2025, we've developed a creative process that fits seamlessly around the fast pace of magazine publishing and the news cycles. We've built an ever expanding collection of animations that help each issue stand out and reach new audiences - delivering motion-led editorial content that performs across multiple channels.
I love to see the growing collection of animated covers - I've had a great time collaborating with all the cover artists work and it's such a fun ongoing collaboration that's all about extending great editorial design beyond the printed page.
