The New Statesman
Working with award-winning Head of Design Erica Weathers, we've been bringing the covers of The New Statesman to life through a series of animated cover designs.
Originally created for print, each cover is reimagined in motion for social media, paid campaigns, and digital screens in WHSmith stores across the UK. I get the opportunity to take great editorial design and give it a second life beyond the magazine shelf.
Since starting our collaboration in 2025, we've developed a creative process that fits seamlessly around the fast pace of magazine publishing and the ever-changing news cycle. Over time, we've built a growing collection of animations that help each issue stand out and reach new audiences - delivering motion-led editorial content that performs across multiple channels.
I love to see the growing collection of animated covers - I've had a great time collaborating with all the cover artists work and it's such a fun ongoing collaboration that's all about extending great editorial design beyond the printed page.
